SOUTHBANK ZONE SUBSTATION
The redevelopment of Citipower’s first new CBD Zone Substation, has significantly improved its ability to supply electricity to Melbourne’s CBD and Southbank’s surrounding areas.
This complex project involved the decommissioning and demolition of the old Zone Substation, and construction and commissioning of new equipment including transformers, switchgear and switchboard.
The integration of the new supply into the existing supply was completed successfully without interruption, and in time to meet the greatly increased summer load demand of 2010 / 2011.
RLB provided full quantity surveying services and was superintendent to Powercor Network Services.
