SIR OWEN GLENN NATIONAL AQUATIC CENTRE
This multi-million-dollar partnership to develop a world-class venue for aquatic sport meets the growing demand for competitive swimming in Auckland.
The purpose-built facility meets FINA specifications for an Olympic swimming pool, and includes a main competition pool, training pool and learn to swim pool, allowing for both high performance and community use. There is fixed seating for 700 and pool-side seating for an additional 700 spectators. Removal of the north and east precast concrete cladding panels allows the facility to expand further for international competitions. RLB in Auckland provided cost management and quantity surveying services. Property Council of New Zealand, Holmes Consulting Group Tourism and Leisure Property Award (Merit).
