Providing an enduring legacy of the ANZAC Centenary

SIR JOHN MONASH CENTRE

The Sir John Monash Centre, designed by Cox Architecture, is a 1,600-square-metre international standard interpretive and visitors' centre, to the rear of the existing Australian National Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, France.

It tells the story of General Sir John Monash and the famous victory achieved under his command at Le Hamel in 1918.

The project delivers an advanced, integrated multimedia experience on Australia’s contribution to victory in the First World War on the Western Front in France and Belgium.

More than 295,000 Australians fought on the Western Front. Of those, 46,000 died and 132,000 were wounded. The Australian National Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux bears the names of over 10,700 Australians who died in France in the First World War and who have no known grave.

The centre will be completed for the centenary of ANZAC commemorations in 2018.

RLB, working with our Euro Alliance partners Sterling Quest Associates, is providing full quantity surveying services for this project to the Australian Government’s Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
