PHX SKY TRAIN
RLB recently completed work on a portion of the $1 billion Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) Sky Train™.
Construction is complete on over 750 acres of elevated track to circle the airport, and potentially reduce airport traffic by nearly 20 percent, meaning roughly 20,000 fewer vehicles per day.
The initial $625-million segment of the elevated PHX Sky Train™ connects Phoenix Metro’s light-rail station with the airport’s 4,630-space east economy parking lot and 88-gate Terminal 4, which serves 80 percent of Sky Harbor’s passengers.
A future four-station, 1,200-acre extension traveling from the airport west to the rental car center, will be up and running in 2020.
RLB provided third-party review cost consulting directly to the City of Phoenix Aviation Department for Phase 1A, the $122 million extension between Terminal 4 and Terminal 3.
