PERTH AIRPORT TERMINAL 1
Situated at the western end of Terminal 1(T1), the new Domestic Terminal allows Virgin Australia's passengers to transfer seamlessly between regional, interstate and international services in one convenient location.
The innovative design incorporates a dramatic use of natural daylight, with a combination of skylights running the length of the pier and glazed curtain wall, coupled with high-efficiency mechanical systems, innovative air distribution, intelligent lighting and SCADA controls.
The expansion of Terminal 1 includes the introduction of a 260-metre-long pier for domestic travel. Including extensive retail and food & beverage outlets, gate seating for 1847 passengers and 19 gates, an extension to the existing terminal with 22 new domestic check-in desks, the latest automated check-in and bag-drop technology and a new Virgin lounge.
In addition, the project includes an expansion of International Departures facilities such as a new Emirates lounge and expanded baggage handling facilities.
