FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP 2023
The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 in Australia, managed by IEDM, showcases RLB’s proficiency in construction programming and delay claim analysis. This project entailed the overlay works required at six national stadiums over a three-week period.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ marked several historic firsts, including being the first tournament co-hosted by two nations, the first to feature 32 teams, and the first held in the Asia-Pacific region.
RLB was responsible for producing and managing the Overlay Management Contractors (OMC) Programme and developing site-specific Integrated Delivery Programmes (IDP). These IDPs consolidated all Supplier programs and third-party programs directly impacting the overlay build into one cohesive site delivery program.
The programmes covered a range of activities, from design (including review and acceptance) and procurement (including long lead items) to manufacturing, logistics/transportation, installation, testing and commissioning, handover, maintenance, hand back, decommissioning/removal, and remediation. Given the numerous interfaces, the project required regular stakeholder meetings to ensure the programmes met the tight timeframe.
RLB’s expertise in construction planning and scheduling guaranteed the successful execution of this high-profile international event, delivering precise construction project schedules and building construction schedules tailored to the complex demands of a global sports tournament.
