The 8 Willis Street & Stewart Dawson’s Corner project in Wellington has triumphed at the Property Council New Zealand Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards, taking home the prestigious Rider Levett Bucknall Supreme Award, along with category wins in the RCP Commercial Office Property Award and the Naylor Love Heritage & Adaptive Reuses Property Award.
This standout development, owned and developed by Argosy Property Ltd, features Wellington’s first 6-star Green Star building, incorporating sustainable innovations like dynamic dampers for earthquake absorption and strategies to lower carbon emissions by 38% over 60 years. The project also blends modern design with heritage preservation, offering 18,700m² of premium mixed-use space that reflects cultural values and sustainability.
Chief judge Andrew Evans praised the project for its innovative approach to challenges, local trade engagement, and commitment to Māori businesses. He highlighted the project’s complexity and thoughtful construction, making it a benchmark for sustainable building practices.
