Spark Data Centre in Auckland has been crowned as winner of the My Trends Industrial Property Award, at the 2016 Property Council of New Zealand / Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards.

This is one of 14 RLB projects to be recognised on the evening, having provided cost management and quantity surveying services on the project. The RLB project team was led by Auckland Director, Richard Anderson.

Mr Anderson commented, ‘The Spark Data Centre is an impressive example of a modern and sustainable project. Built to global TIA standards, the development team and tenant have achieved an outstanding result, which has paved the way for future data centres in New Zealand.’

Developed by Urban Partners, it delivers exceptional levels of redundancy and resilience, as demanded by Enterprise and Government clients, yet consumes 60% less energy than typical data centres.

The project’s energy efficiency was also recognised at the awards, by receiving a Merit under the Resene Green Building Award.

Successfully achieving both its sustainability and financial goals, the Spark Data Centre sets the benchmark for the resource-efficient, secure, reliable data centre of the future.

The Property Council New Zealand / Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards celebrate innovation and leading practice within New Zealand’s property development and investment industries.

RLB has partnered with the Property Council New Zealand to present the awards program for more than 18 years.

The 2016 winners were announced on 17 June at a gala dinner at Vector Arena in Auckland, attended by over 1,500 people.
