Elouise Pienaar, Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Auckland
Eloise Pienaar’s career has taken several twists and turns before landing in quantity surveying. At high school in South Africa, Elouise’s flair for numbers drew her to banking, where she spent six years as a property finance specialist.
But when she decided to explore the world with her husband, Elouise packed a bag and left for Aotearoa New Zealand. A role as a receptionist at RLB in Auckland gave her a taste for quantity surveying. With RLB’s Managing Director Steve Gracey and Director Richard Anderson immediately offering their support, the business sponsored Eloise with an RLB scholarship which allowed her to study quantity surveying while working fulltime to gain crucial hands-on experience.
Elouise will soon take up a secondment between RLB and a local main contractor in Auckland to expand her understanding of the industry from a variety of perspectives. Poised to graduate with a degree in an industry she never knew existed, Eloise’s curiosity has been rewarded with an exciting new career.
