RLB’s Global CSR Awards acknowledge and celebrate the many valuable contributions our staff make towards philanthropic endeavours close to the heart.
The commitment of our staff to the communities we serve is a source of pride for us all. Darren Bedford and Peter Tulla have been working with the same organisations for the past 5 and 10 years respectively and have raised a significant amount of money for them. Samantha Anile has selected a charity in Melbourne and has worked with them extensively to focus CSR efforts and to fund key areas that make a big difference for people experiencing domestic violence.
Here are their stories of impact:
Peter Tulla, Adelaide
Peter has raised funds for Variety SA for the past 10 years. This charity supports South Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability. Peter’s activities include requesting donations, organising fundraising events, and donating items for charity auctions. To encourage volunteers to fundraise, Variety SA runs the ‘Variety Bash’ which is an eight-day navigation drive through the Australian outback in cars at least 30 years old. Through Peter’s participation in the Variety Bash, he witnesses firsthand how his fundraising efforts help children in remote and rural communities.
Darren Bedford, London
Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity’s five-kilometre fun ‘Race for the Kids’ raises vital funds to help beat childhood cancer. With the support of family and friends, Darren participated in 2023 to help the hospital build a new Children’s Cancer Centre. Darren started taking part five years ago, when his son Charlie was diagnosed with brain cancer and started treatment under GOSH’s wonderful care and attention. As Charlie has now turned 16, the 2023 race was a landmark event, as Charlie will soon move on from GOSH and be treated as an adult under UCLH services.
Samantha Anile, Melbourne
Samantha has been instrumental in fostering the partnership between RLB and Refuge Victoria, a not-for-profit organisation providing accommodation and support for people experiencing family violence. Samantha’s commitment and passion to make a difference has resulted in an annual calendar of events to create awareness of the societal issues of family violence and to facilitate ongoing support. Samantha works closely with Refuge Victoria to develop new ways for RLB to make a meaningful impact.

Our purpose has helped us to bring imagination to life for over 200 years, and it will for many more. At RLB, purpose is the difference between doing our job and knowing why it matters.
