Andrew Suttie, Managing Director of RLB in South Australia, is pleased to be accepted to join the Property Council of Australia, SA Diversity Committee.
Andrew has a strong understanding of the challenges we all face in the workplace, and the importance of industry male advocates to implement systematic workplace norms of no barriers, no judgment, supportive culture, merit based reward and career path transparency.
He believes employers can’t afford to ignore 50 percent of the potential workforce.
Andrew says, ‘At RLB our focus is a ‘people orientated culture’ – diversity and equality but not solely driven by gender percentages. Creating opportunity for people regardless of gender, age, physical ability/disability, or ethnic background is our approach. Embracing difference and providing flexibility creates a productive, happy and collaborative workplace family.’
As a nation, we are gaining a greater acceptance of flexible working arrangements, parental leave, gender balance at home and in the workplace. More effort is required to not only ensure equal pay for role, irrespective of diversity, but to stretch opportunities, build networks and encourage the pursuit of leadership roles where deserved.
The Property Council Committee has exceeded their target of 40:40:20 committee representation for the 2019-2020 term, with 44 percent of committee roles awarded to women.
RLB has had a long association with the Property Council of South Australia and nationally, through industry participation and as major sponsor of the Innovation and Excellence Awards.
Andrew looks forward to representing RLB as a committee member of the SA Diversity Committee.
