Perth’s RLB Crane Index® fell from 116 to 105 index points.

Highlights
The index represents a total of 45 cranes across the city, slightly down from the 50 cranes reported previously. A total of 17 cranes was added to developments, offset by 22 removals.
The residential sector continues to dominate in Perth, accounting for more than 66.7% of all cranes.

- Oasis Apartments (Mount Pleasant)
- Modele Apartments (Como)
Non-Residential projects
- Nine the Esplanade (Perth, commercial)
- Reid Library (Crawley, education)
- Joondalup Storage (Joondalup, commercial)
- Woolstores Shopping Centre (Fremantle, mixed use)
- Dorsett Hotel (Perth, hotel)
- Kalamunda Senior High School (Kalamunda, education)
- Melvista Aged Care (Nedlands, aged care)
Twenty-two cranes were removed from projects in: Perth CBD, South Perth, Shenton Park, Claremont, Dalkeith, Mosman Park, Dalkeith, Karrinyup, Burswood, Scarborough, Applecross, Fremantle, Nedlands, Jolimont, Armadale and Northbridge.
Western Australia’s residential sector saw a 9.0% increase in the preliminary value of work done in the 2023 calendar year, compared to the previous year. The apartment sector increased by 15.0%, while houses grew by 8.8%. The non-residential sector grew to $5.4bn worth of work done, an increase of 12.2% over the $4.8bn recorded in 2022. Preliminary engineering activity rose by 17.6% for the year. Overall, preliminary activity rose by 15.0% (or $4.8bn) for the calendar year.
