LOTUS GLEN CORRECTIONAL CENTRE REDEVELOPMENT

Accommodating high and low security, this correction centre redevelopment included additions and modifications of the prison infrastructure, boosting cell capacity from 396 to 696 beds. Also included in the redevelopment are new programs and medical buildings, industry workshops, a gatehouse, sports hall, visitor processing and staff amenities building.

The project also included six additional four-bed capacity cottages at the prison farm and the demolition of temporary buildings.
Challenges included working within a ‘live’ correctional centre, and its remote location.
