Updating and upgrading a premier shopping destination

CHATSWOOD CHASE

The $120-million redevelopment of Chatswood Chase has added 11,000 square metres of new lettable space, and 70 premium brands to the already strong retail offer

The staged development was designed by The Buchan Group to upgrade and update the successful North Shore shopping centre, to increase the lettable area and to improve the efficiency of the layout. An important aspect of the design was the renewal of the Victoria Avenue façade and the creation of a new entry.

The project was completed in November 2009. The centre recorded a 22% growth in sales in December 2009. It received the Silver Award for Sustainable Design for the Renovation or Expansion of an Existing Project at the 2011 International Council of Shopping Centre’s Asia Awards, and was named by the Property Council of Australia as the NSW Development of the Year for 2012.
