Tom Chatterton joins RLB’s Christchurch leadership team as a new director.

Tom began his career with RLB as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in 2012. He has since worked on a full range of large-scale construction projects with values up to $450 million. He has played a pivotal role in the rebuilding of Christchurch city centre.

Widely respected for his passion for problem-solving and digital technology, Tom is Chair of the RLB Global Digital Advancement Committee, and is the in-house champion of Building Information Modelling.

Congratulating Tom on his promotion, Christchurch Managing Director Malcolm Timms commented:

A digitally savvy quantity surveyor, strategist and technologist, Tom prides himself on establishing solid relationships with clients, contractors, design team members and his RLB colleagues.

Tom’s energy and infectious enthusiasm is evident in every project and extends to his support of RLB’s global digital strategy.

Experience in public and private health sectors and major commercial projects in Christchurch have taught Tom to recognise quality. He has expertise in delivering every service offering and enjoys an enviable reputation among clients for minimising their risk.

Tom holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Quantity Surveying and is a Member of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors.

Tom is Chair of Canterbury New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors and the South Island Education Trust Committee and sits on the South Island Property Council executive. He has received three RLB Employee Excellence Awards, the Property Council’s Judges’ Choice Award, and the Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors International IWATA Competition.

“In an industry full of strong personalities, Tom’s technical mastery and natural affability always bring stakeholders together to achieve the right outcome,” Malcolm added.

“Tom is a significant asset to RLB and our clients in New Zealand and abroad, and we look forward to his continued success.”
