Due to continual success and growth, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Utilities and Infrastructure Estimator to join our client focused Civil and Infrastructure Team in Adelaide.  The ideal candidate must have a proven track record in Utilities and Infrastructure estimating or similar and demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role.

The Senior Utilities and Infrastructure Estimator will be responsible for carrying out measuring and delivering estimating services for utilities services and working with our Civil and Infrastructure Estimating Team including supporting post contract services where necessary and a commitment to delivering customer service excellence and good commercial results is key.

We are keen to hear from candidates to join our team and who must have the following attributes and skill sets:

  • Specialist utilities services estimating experience predominantly associated hydraulic services (sewer and water), gas and electrical/comms services associated with Civil Infrastructure Projects and with at least 5 years’ plus demonstrated experience as a dedicator estimator.
  • Current knowledge of services authority’s standards and codes within South Australia (SA Water, APA and SAPN).
  • Strong understanding of services utilities and civil construction and has a combination of strong estimating / technical skills and practical knowledge.
  • Must be able to prepare estimates by first principle estimating and have strong understanding of productivity rates for utilities services in the development of rates.
  • Experience in South Australia is preferred or similar experience throughout Australia will be considered.
  • Established relationship with clients, designers, specialist contractors and suppliers is advantageous.
  • Ability to work as part of our Civil Estimating Team and to mentor and provide guidance for estimating utilities services to the Team.
  • Ability to also measure and estimate traditional civil works to support the Civil Estimating Team.
  • Must be able to communicate well and establish and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Estimating experience in Renewable Energy, Mining and or Process Engineering will be of benefit.
  • Preparing estimates for both local and regional locations.
  • Experience with estimating software systems and onscreen take-off software.

The Senior Utilities and Infrastructure Estimator will be responsible for carrying out estimating duties, including but not limited to:

  • Project estimates for all phases of design for the project.
  • Cost Control – planning, forecasting and estimation.
  • Value Management
  • Benchmarking Analysis
  • Post Contract Services, including assessment of progress claims and assessment of contract variations.
  • Assist in the preparation of constructability reports and detailed construction programs.
  • Mentoring and providing guidance to junior estimators.
