Due to continual success and growth, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Civil Estimator (Buildings) to join our client focused Quantity Surveying Team in Adelaide.  The ideal candidate will need to have a proven track record in Civil Estimating associated with traditional building projects or similar and demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role.

The Senior Civil Estimator (Buildings) will be responsible for carrying out estimating duties to support our large Quantity Surveying Team and a commitment to delivering customer service excellence and good commercial results is key.

We are keen to hear from candidates to join our team and who must have the following attributes and skill sets:

  • Industry experience in civil estimating associated with traditional building projects and with at least 4 years’ plus demonstrated experience as a dedicator civil estimator.
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction and has a combination of strong estimating / technical skills and practical knowledge.
  • Experience in South Australia and or throughout Australia is essential.
  • Established relationships with clients, designers, specialist contractors and suppliers is advantageous.
  • Ability to work with our large team of Quantity Surveyors to support their specific projects.
  • Must be able to communicate well and establish and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Work on various projects of varying size and complexity.
  • An innovative thought process for best fit cost options and strategies.
  • Must be able to accurately measure in detail and prepare estimates by first principle estimating and have strong understanding of civil construction productivity in the development of rates.
  • Experience with estimating software systems, onscreen take-off software and earthworks modelling.

The Senior Civil Estimator (Buildings) will be responsible for carrying out measurement and estimating duties for the civil works associated with various building projects and also assist with post contract duties, including but not limited to:

  • Project estimates for all phases of design for the project.
  • Cost Control – planning, forecasting and estimation.
  • Value Management
  • Benchmarking Analysis
  • Assist in Post Contract Services, including assistance in the assessment of contract variations.
