QUEENS WHARF
“Iconic” is an overused word. But no other word comes close to describing the $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane Integrated Resort Development – Brisbane’s most ambitious urban transformation project. This world-class development fuses luxury hotels, a state-of-the-art casino, high-end dining and a breath-taking Sky Deck to elevate Brisbane’s status ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
More than a mixed-use development, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane is a megaproject that when complete will feature four opulent hotels with 1,000-plus premium rooms and Brisbane’s largest hotel ballroom. Up to 2,000 residential apartments, 50 dining options, 40,000 sqm of retail space and world-class gaming facilities create an immersive destination. This precinct is one which will connect people, celebrate Brisbane’s future and create exceptional experiences for decades to come.

Pushing boundaries in both form and function
From the initial bid to the grand opening, RLB has overseen the budget at every stage. Our involvement began in 2014 when we joined a pioneering project team united by a bold ambition: to transform Brisbane’s skyline, challenge architectural conventions, create new connections between two riverbanks, redefine sustainable building practices and offer experiences that reflect the city’s subtropical climate.
Seeing Queen’s Wharf Brisbane evolve has been incredibly rewarding. I’m proud that our team was there from inception, when Queen’s Wharf was just a simple sketch on trace paper. The journey from concept to completion is often unpredictable, but Queen’s Wharf is remarkably close to the original vision. It is proof that dedication and teamwork can turn ambitious dreams into extraordinary realities.Matt Long, Managing Director, RLB Brisbane
From that simple sketch on trace paper, RLB’s team developed a comprehensive cost plan. RLB arguably boasts the world’s largest construction cost database, but gathering data is only part of the equation. The true skill lies in applying this data to the specific nuances of a complex site. By leveraging our expertise, we ensured the project remained without compromising on quality.
Where a city’s past meets its future
The Sky Deck is an engineering marvel, with 500 tonnes of suspended steel that soars 100 metres over William Street and spans four towers like a ship in the sky.
Historic charm is preserved in nine repurposed heritage buildings, while a new pedestrian bridge connects the two banks of the Brisbane River and honours Indigenous leader Senator Neville Bonner.

A decade of dedication
Over more than a decade, RLB collaborated closely with our visionary client, construction partner Multiplex, architect Cottee Parker and other stakeholders to navigate challenges from inclement weather to supply chain impacts. Even amid pandemic disruptions and market fluctuations, the vision for Queen’s Wharf remained uncompromised.
Vision and precision shape Brisbane’s future
Queen’s Wharf is more than a landmark or a grand design. It stands as a testament to the possibilities when bold ideas meet meticulous planning. RLB is proud to have played a pivotal role in this city-shaping project, delivering cost certainty and contributing to a new era for Brisbane.
