OLKILUOTO (OL3)

The Olkiluoto 3 (OL3) project is the first Generation III+ reactor to be constructed, and the largest nuclear reactor in the world.

It is Western Europe’s largest industrial project, and the first of its kind to be built in a decade.
RLB was appointed in 2009 to investigate the cost over-run and claim, that had been submitted to Areva.
Our team of surveyors was based on-site and worked within Areva’s Paris office, assessing the claim and aligning proposed resolution costs, regarding the contractual claims.
The commercial team was involved in monthly cost reporting, agreeing the value of variations, validating instructions and agreeing final accounts.
A separate team was dedicated to the re-measurement or commercial management of major building, civil, mechanical and electrical work packages across the Marine Works, Nuclear Island and Balance of Plant packages.
