CIRCLE SQUARE
RLB UK has been appointed as principal designer by developer Bruntwood SciTech on this prestigious 15 storey, 224,000 ft2 office space based in Manchester's innovation district - Oxford Road Corridor.
Part of the new neighbourhood – Circle Square, the new commercial building has been brought forward in its development due to the high levels of demand for office space from science and tech businesses looking to invest in the city.
The new building will include approximately 16,400 ft2 over 12 floors as well as lounges, workspace, a terrace on the top floor and restaurants and other food and beverage outlets on the ground floor.
The project comprises the development of the former BBC site as one of Manchester’s most significant, city centre regeneration projects. It is designed to be a truly mixed-use, vibrant new area of the city with a mixture of commercial office buildings, private rental residentials, hotel, leisure and retail – all framed around a new landscaped public space for the city.
Appointed as Principal Designer and CDM Advisor, the works have included the demolition of Armstrong House and the dismantling of a redundant Mancunian Way spur, in addition to the construction of multiple buildings. The projects involve complex design risk management to ensure they are procured, managed and delivered safely to the end users.
