Last month Rider Levett Bucknall took part in World Wellbeing Week 2019. All offices across the UK got involved, taking part in activities that encouraged healthy habits and healthy behaviour.
We encouraged everyone to be active (organising a national “Step Challenge”), to keep hydrated (providing all staff with a re-usable stainless-steel water bottle) and to be fruitful (to take advantage of the free fruit provided in offices). Wellbeing Champions organised local activities; Bristol went paddle boarding on the harbour, London competed in a netball match, Manchester challenged themselves with wall sit and plank competitions, and Birmingham arranged group walks at lunchtime.
As well as highlighting the benefits of making small changes like swapping the lift for the stairs, supporting World Wellbeing Week had a much bigger purpose; highlighting the importance RLB places on the health and wellbeing of our people. Our Wellbeing Steering Group, led by our UK & Global Board Director, is responsible for steering and implementing our Wellbeing strategy ensuring its adoption across every facet of our business in the long-term – improving the health and wellbeing of our people, our communities, and our buildings.
Seeing every single UK office, as well as our colleagues in Hong Kong & China, get involved demonstrates the positive level of engagement with the wider wellbeing agenda. As we continue to implement our wellbeing plan, we look forward to doing more to raise awareness, to embedding wellbeing principles in everything we do, and to improving the health and wellbeing of our people, our organisation and our sector.
