RLB welcomes the launch of the Infrastructure and Projects Authority’s (IPA) “PFI Expiry – Asset Condition Playbook” PFI Asset Condition Playbook – GOV.UK released on Monday.

This guidance, borne out of the IPA’s Working Groups includes contributions from both the private and public sectors, with RLB Partner Jamie Marsh being part of that select group.

The Playbook provides essential guidance and best practice to help Authorities and SPVs when undertaking asset condition surveys on PPP estates as part of the expiry preparations. Additionally, it will provide a standard market approach to procuring joint asset condition surveys, reducing unnecessary duplication and mitigating the risk of disputes between parties by encouraging engagement between the parties.

Jamie Marsh, RLB Partner comments:

“It was great to contribute to the development of the IPA’s PFI Expiry Playbook. Effectively managing these assets ahead of expiry is critical, and having a unified approach will help minimise disputes and ensure a smooth and efficient hand back process.”
