With demand for more strategic industrial and logistics locations, RLB is excited to be providing services including Employer’s Agent, Project Manager, Quantity Surveying and Pre-Contract Principal Designer to the last phase of development at iPort, Verdion’s multimodal logistics hub just outside Doncaster.
The RLB team has a long-standing working relationship with Verdion with its engagement on iPort starting in 2014. This collaboration illustrates RLB’s regional and national sector capability as well as its ability to deliver a breadth of professional services. This latest iPort development involves the speculative build of five new units, including an 848,250 sqft warehouse facility that proposes to become one of the largest speculative logistics units ever developed in the UK.
Adam Clay, Verdion account lead and RLB’s logistics and manufacturing sector lead for Yorkshire and Humber comments, “Continuing our relationship with Verdion on the iPort logistics hub is significant in terms of how it helps bridge the gap between demand and supply of high quality, agile logistics space in Yorkshire and nationally. These new buildings deliver the additional capacity this market clearly needs while at the same time creating new employment in the region through both the build and the operation of this space.”
Verdion’s Executive Director, John Clements comments, “This is a major investment that underlies our unwavering confidence in both iPort and the UK market. Demand for high quality, efficient space in strategic locations remains extremely strong and this programme addresses the current scarcity in the Yorkshire market and further afield head on. Certainty of delivery is crucial and working with partners like RLB, who have local knowledge, backed with national capability, enables us to undertake speculative development with trust and confidence.”
