RAFFLES CITY
Raffles City is a mega development which houses two hotels; Swissotel The Stamford – one of Southeast Asia’s tallest hotels, and Fairmont Singapore – a 26-storey, premium twin-tower hotel.
The three towers are complemented by a 42-storey office tower above a podium which includes a retail mall and convention centre. The original development was completed in 1986, with upgrading/refurbishment works carried out from 2005 to 2013.
This development won first prize in the Engineering Excellence Awards, by the New York Association of Consulting Engineers in 1987. Raffles City is the only complex outside North America to win this coveted engineering award.
It is also the recipient of the CIDB Award for Construction Excellence, which was jointly awarded to Ssangyong Construction Co Ltd, the main contractor for the project.
RLB provided quantity surveying services for the original development and the subsequent upgrading/refurbishment works.
