RICS Awards China 2022 announced the results on 21 October 2022.
A very iconic development – 1000 Trees Shanghai won the Construction Project of the Year Award, the third time RLB was awarded as Winner for this grand award, following Raffles City Chongqing in 2021, and Shanghai Tower in 2017. RLB delivered full QS consultancy services for the 1000 Trees Project.
Iris Lee, RLB’s Director and Zhai Jian’an, the Client’s Deputy Manager thanked the dedication of the project and QS teams for delivering such a complex project with iconic design, using innovative technology to meet Client’s expectation and budget objective.
This project marks our first collaboration with Heatherwick Studio in Mainland China and RLB has gone through numerous feasibility studies and materials selection processes to bring imagination to life.
Inspired by China’s majestic Huanghsan Mountains, 1000 Trees complement the existing landscape of Suzhou Creek. This green oasis in the city brings together a mix of retail, hospitality and commercial spaces, creating a unique ecological and human experience.
Besides, two other RLB’s landmark projects also won the Excellence Awards in the respective category:

Southwest Headquarters Mansion of JD.com
- Commercial Project of the Year
