We are delighted to announce that RLB has received 3 Winner Awards at RICS Awards 2021 Hong Kong. They are:
1. Winner of ‘Quantity Surveying Team of the Year’ – Rider Levett Bucknall Limited
As one of the largest independent QS consultants in the built environment, RLB’s success is evidenced by entrustment in delivering complex iconic projects, clients’ satisfaction and divergent industry representation of the QS profession. RLB is the first QS Consultant in Hong Kong to have obtained ISO19650 certification in managing design and construction information using BIM.
The judges commented the winning team was multi-disciplinary, providing a full spectrum of professional services in the real estate and construction industry, and demonstrated professional expertise in a number of projects with recognised performance.
2. Winner of ‘Woman of the Built Environment Award’ – Ling Lam, Managing Director of RLB
Ling Lam is the Managing Director and a Global Board Director of RLB. Qualified as a QS, Ling was the first woman appointed as director in the history of RLB’s North Asia region. She has successfully delivered many iconic projects with commendable outcome. Ling provides mentorship through guidance and support to many young surveyors and her engagement in professional institutions and universities.
The judges commented Ling is an inspirational leader, with many impressive achievements both inside and outside RLB. She is a great ambassador for the industry and a role model for future talent.
3. Winner of ‘Refurbishment/Revitalisation Team of the Year’ – The Central Market Team
Urban Renewal Authority was commissioned to revitalize Central Market as a part of the “Conserving Central” initiative proposed by the HKSAR Government. The team has used higher dimension BIM applications to ensure effective project management and seamless cross-functional communication. RLB is honoured to provide QS consultancy services for this project.
The judges commented that this multi-disciplinary team demonstrated a highly innovative and interesting approach to a project of civic, historic and commercial import. This is a fantastic example of a combination between creativity, sustainability, technology and repurposing for a legitimate next phase of what is a very exciting project for Hong Kong.
