Global production and supply chain issues continue to hamper post pandemic recovery in the first half of 2022. Global metal prices remain more than 50 per cent above pre-COVID prices despite the recent softening of costs in May 2022. A surge in demand for the same pool of workers in the Southeast Asian region have pushed labour costs higher, even as borders reopened. Elevated construction prices are expected to persist throughout the year for cities covered in this report.
