NEXT GENERATION DATA CENTRE

Next Generation Data Centre is the centrepiece of HKEx Orion Technology Initiatives, a comprehensive HK$3 billion program designed to enhance HKEx’s technological infrastructure.

The data centre is a purpose-built facility, owned and operated by HKEx at Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate. It consolidates the primary data centre for HKEx’s markets and clearing house systems as well as hosting services under one roof.

The data centre is a 5-storey facility with a total floor area of approximately 31,400 square metres in Tier 4 specifications. It contains the HKEx primary data centre which is a production site for securities and derivatives markets, market data and clearing. Two other floors are dedicated to HKEx hosting services which can support up to 1,200 racks.
