Martin Lai is a Director of RLB in Malaysia.
He has over 10 years’ experience locally and internationally in different project sectors including commercial, infrastructure, logistics & manufacturing, residential and retail.
A sustainability champion, Martin has co-authored and published works on topics such as “Cost Implications for Certified Green Building Index (GBI) Buildings”.
Martin is conversant with local Malaysian contracting and building practices and works closely with client representatives and consultants. His professional expertise comprises cost estimating, cost planning, feasibility studies, financial reporting, tender documentation, contract documentation, valuation of works, management of contractor’s claims, final accounts closure and project management. He is responsible for client communications and the professional delivery of all services in connection with his projects.
Martin holds a Master of Science in Project Management from the University of Reading in the UK and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Quantity Surveying from the University of Tunku Abdul Rahman in Kuala Lumpur.
He is a Consultant Quantity Surveyor for the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia, a Member of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia, and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in London.
