The Graham Roy Mentorship Award is presented each year to an RLB team member who truly embodies the spirit of mentorship. This award honors those who consistently reach out to colleagues, interns, peers, or students, and those who contribute to the growth of mentoring programs within RLB or the wider community. Recipients of this award are dedicated to guiding and fostering the development of others, just as Graham Roy did throughout his career.
Who was Graham Roy?
Graham Roy began his career at RLB in 1995 as a cost manager in our Honolulu office, quickly becoming a key figure and leader within the firm. He later moved to Oregon to oversee our Portland office, where his leadership was instrumental in transforming it into a major hub that drove our success across North America. Through his expertise, dedication, and hard work, Graham earned the respect of both clients and colleagues, eventually leading to his appointment as director.
Throughout his tenure, Graham was not only a mentor but also a colleague and a friend to many at RLB. His positive influence within the firm was profound, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working with him. We celebrate his legacy with the Mentorship Award in honor of his deep commitment to guiding others. Graham was passionate about helping those around him thrive and succeed in their careers.

We are excited to see how his leadership will shape the growth of those around him in the years to come.
A few quotes from esteemed colleagues:
“Despite his busy schedule, he accepted to be my mentor and has been a tremendous source of knowledge and information. We laid out a plan, setting goals and identifying technical and soft skills to work on and develop. He showed examples on how to prepare a project plan, executive summary/memo and shared stories from his previous experiences. I hope other junior staff get to experience being his mentee as they would benefit a lot from his mentorship.”
“…his commitment to ensuring his team continues to develop their career provides a sense of confidence for us as well as assurance we can talk to him about any concerns…”
“A number of my PEs have mentioned how helpful Terence was in walking and teaching them through their scope. Terence consistently checks in on staff to not only ensure they feel supported but also provide the necessary push to keep them developing. He always has the willingness to jump into an issue to support his team even though he has much more pressing items to deal with.”
