VIVANEXT PROJECT
The vivaNext plan is a key piece of Metrolinx’s regional transportation plan to reduce gridlock across the Greater Golden Horseshoe.
It includes the construction of new subway extensions, new bus facilities and terminals as well as dedicated rapidway lanes and stations for Viva vehicles.
RLB was retained as an Independent Cost Confidence Advisor for Metrolinx to ensure fair, reasonable and appropriate negotiations of the design-build contracts between the design-build consortium and the York Region Rapid Transit Corporation and to participate in cost validation, risk assessment and schedule review. Our mandate was to protect the interest of the province of Ontario during the negotiation process and to review of the cost estimates prepared by the project consortium and owner’s engineer.
