SRL DM1|2 EXPANSION PROJECT

Sierra Rutile, a multi-mine operation in Sierra Leone, produces high-quality rutile from the world’s largest natural rutile deposit, and supplies around 17 percent of global demand.

It further produces smaller quantities of zircon and ilmenite in concentrate. Conventional earth moving equipment are used to conduct the dry mining activities excavation at Lanti and Gangama, the two mining sites, each with two concentrators.
The mining separation plant at Sierra Rutile, including feed preparation plant and dry plant, has a capacity of 175 kilotons per annum, that processes the mineral concentrate. Products from the mineral separation plant are transported to Sierre Rutile’s port. It has a projected mine life in excess of 20 years, with increasing volumes of rutile produced year-on-year.
RLB’s Engineering Cost Management division provided cost management and quantity surveying services.
