OR TAMBO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - UPGRADE & EXTENSION
Named the second-best airport in Africa in 2012, it accommodates 28 million passengers per year.
It is the largest airport on the African continent and a key port of entry for visitors to the country. The addition of an impressive central terminal building integrates the original domestic and new international terminals.
Expertly designed and aesthetically striking, the multi-level central terminal building features a wide concourse, 75 check-in counters, 33 lifts, 34 escalators and two 90-metr-long baggage carousels. The building also includes extensive retail space and restaurants, and a duty-free mall. Functional flexibility as a key design principle allows for efficient luggage collection and passenger movement.
