Whole Life Cost Modelling

The four dimensional cost model (4DCM) is our unique response to the pressures of collaboration sustainability and the legislation driving energy savings to new levels.

The 4DCM is a fully dynamic whole life cost model where all variables can impact on one another. The fourth dimension is time.

The information is stored in a format that allows similar projects or options to be analysed using the same template of logic and pricing. There are approximately 400 variables (but no limit) that can be changed. “What if” calculations can be done by changing one or more variables. This gives consistency of approach and enforces a consistent logic and presentational format.

The 4DCM can calculate capital allowances, CO2 energy and water consumption in addition to the through life costs you would normally expect. The key is that a detailed through life cost breakdown is available at the inception of a project which helps with decision making.

We have delivered models to various organisations including Ikea, Kingspan, BAe Systems and BSF.

Early collaboration during the inception and feasibility stages of a project were vindicated with the Royal Ordnance Defence division of BAE systems. They saved an estimated £5m over 25 years on a single new-build project.

4DCM provides instant solutions to an unlimited number of scenarios, delivers proven real savings, and avoids reinventing the wheel for each project.
