Overview
The 123 Victoria Street commission involved the redevelopment of a 200,000 sq.ft. office and retail building.
The project included the design, alterations, refurbishment and fitting out of the existing building, to provide high quality Cat A office space.
The development involved the replacement of all glazing and shop fronts to improve energy efficiency and visual impact of the building.
A new roof was added and the internal structure was stripped out and replaced. Considerable structural alterations were also required to improve the space efficiency of the building.
Works to the retail units were successfully carried out with the retail tenants in situ and phased access was granted as office space became available, to ensure that occupiers could be found and moved into the building.

Overview
Rider Levett Bucknall is supporting Muse Developments in providing Basingstoke and Dean Borough Council with the redevelopment of an existing commercial area known as Basing View.
Rider Levett Bucknall is providing Muse with specific cost advice from feasibility through to tender, working with the architects BIM models to provide dynamic cost advice, and with the engineers to establish fixed infrastructure costs for bridges, services, upgrades and topography.
Rider Levett Bucknall is helping Muse to secure a key gateway tenant for a 100,000 sq. ft. retail store, developing a 250,000 sq. ft. new build commercial development and upgrading the highways and landscaping across the site.
Outside of the traditional cost consultancy services, Rider Levett Bucknall is providing life cycle costing to assist Muse with its strategic approach to the site.

Overview
Rider Levett Bucknall provided cost management and CDMC services for this £17m refurbishment and extension. The project was then taken forward, interrogated with the client to develop a state of the art, future proofed office incorporating an elegant and functional new entrance on the south facade, an atrium and light-wells incorporating reception, meeting and cafe facilities, glass lifts linking all floors and the west facing terrace. The project received a Civic Trust Award during 2009.

Rider Levett Bucknall acted as Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyor on the completion of over 60,000 sq.ft office space and 20,000 sq.ft starter units to date. 1,000,000 sq.ft of distribution warehousing and 150,000 sq.ft of small industrial units of various sizes.

Overview
Newcastle Great Park is a prestigious development in the north-west of Newcastle, being delivered by Newcastle Great Park Consortium.
This 1,200 acre mixed use development forms an area of urban expansion to Newcastle upon Tyne. With 200 acres dedicated to employment use, the green belt development also incorporates extensive landscaping works, 2,500 dwellings, business park offices, and local town centre, including; an extra care facility; affordable housing; food retail units and a hotel. Key development criteria include sustainability and environmental issues, energy conservation and the use of renewable energy.
Rider Levett Bucknall has been involved with this scheme since 2005, providing Cost Management, Project Management and CDMC services. The project has a predicted lifespan of 20 years.
Key elements of the scheme include;
- Masterplanning and cost control: early cost planning has ensured that the emerging masterplan is aligned to project budgets
- Business park offices: Employers Agent and QS services to deliver two office buildings totalling 70,000ft2 constructed to a Cat A standard
- Infrastructure: providing QS and CDMc services, all works developed within tight ecological constraints
- Extra Care Home and Affordable Housing: providing QS services, Employer’s Agent, and CDMc services for a 40 bed extra care facility and 42 affordable homes

Rider Levett Bucknall is appointed to the 5 Year Multi-Disciplined Framework Agreement as part of the PMCo initiative.
This national agreement involves all of our core services from all the offices appointed.
Schemes undertaken include:-
- Enabling works and installation of 16 site national programme of letter sorting automation equipment with an initial phase budget of £70m
- Feasibility schemes for Parcel distribution enabling works over 10 sites with budget cost of £5m
- Value engineering exercises on two projects involving all stakeholders resulting in multi-million reduction in capital and life costs.

Overview
Rider Levett Bucknall was appointed in November 2003 to carry out an in-depth appraisal of the Master Planning team structure and their performance to date. Having recommended a comprehensive restructure, refocus and redefinition of the strategy, methodology and team, Rider Levett Bucknall built in clear and logical procedures to ensure that the transition period ran smoothly and that the programme timescales were preserved.
The revised Masterplan and Outline Planning Application were submitted in May 2004 and Warwick District Council resolved to grant outline permission for the redevelopment of the 247 acre Green Belt site in February 2005. The scheme was approved by Government Office West Midlands in September 2005, with interim applications to Advantage West Midlands and the European Regional Development Fund completed in April 2005.
Following the success of the masterplan appraisal process, Rider Levett Bucknall were retained to manage the creation and delivery of a joint venture agreement between RASE and a preferred Development Partner. Rider Levett Bucknall also assisted RASE in an organisational restructure.
