Pentad has been established in Africa since 1997, working on a number of high profile projects including Menlyn Maine Mixed Use Green Precinct, MTN Innovation Campus and First National Bank.

Together, the firms will provide comprehensive cost consultancy services throughout the Africa region.

Rider Levett Bucknall has over 3,000 staff operating from more than 100 offices. The combined resources and expertise of the two practices provides an attractive proposition for clients, providing a strong track record across various sectors and a mix of local knowledge underpinned by global intelligence and best practice.

Brian Dackers, Global Chairman of Rider Levett Bucknall, said: “The tie-up with Pentad Quantity Surveyors allows us to present a powerful offer in Africa. They are a like-minded company with the specialist skills and experience required to support our existing work with clients and to support new ventures.

“The African market is dynamic but tough. By teaming up with African business experts from Pentad we will be able to merge our civil infrastructure skills and enable solutions for mineral extraction, energy creation, distribution and transport sectors swiftly followed by social infrastructure and commercial development services, where we both share an excellent skill base.

“The move is in keeping with our philosophy; to deliver services through local people, utilising their knowledge and expertise in country, with support from our global network.”

Nicolas Sheard, CEO at Pentad, added: “We are excited about working closely with Rider Levett Bucknall as it will provide us with greater access to global markets and a wider pool of knowledge and resources.

“This will help us to support our local clients globally, as well as international clients seeking investment opportunities in Africa.”
