About Rider Levett Bucknall
Confidence today inspires tomorrow
With a network that covers the globe and a heritage spanning over two centuries, Rider Levett Bucknall is a leading independent organisation in cost management and quantity surveying, project management and advisory services.
Our achievements are renowned: from the early days of pioneering quantity surveying, to landmark projects such as the Sydney Opera House, HSBC Headquarters Building in Hong Kong, the 2012 London Olympic Games and CityCenter in Las Vegas.
We continue this successful legacy with our dedication to the value, quality and sustainability of the built environment. Our innovative thinking, global reach, and flawless execution push the boundaries. Taking ambitious projects from an idea to reality.
The pioneering spirit of RLB can be traced back to when Henry Cooper opens a firm of Quantity Surveyors in Reading, England.
With a second office now open in London, the firm carries out engineering projects under the direction of I.K. Brunel, the famous Victorian Civil Engineer.
Henry Cooper’s grandsons sell the London practice to John Rider Hunt. A partnership agreement is signed between the London practice and the original practice in Reading.
John Rider Hunt passes away and the London firm is renamed Rider Hunt and Partners. The firm later opens offices in provincial centres throughout England.
Bucknall Austin first opens in the United Kingdom, and has since successfully grown to over 350 people with offices throughout the UK.
Rider Hunt and Partners’ first overseas office is opened in Melbourne, Australia, by Harry Wexler.
